Georges Onslow (July 27 1784 – October 3 1853) was a prolific French composer of noble birth and English descent, world health organization exposed using Johann Baptiste Cramer and Anton Reicha. He wrote foursome symphonies, several operas (including at least one, Le Colporteur, themes from either which formed a subject of fantasies by more composers, such as Friedrich Kuhlau's for flute & piano) and many chamber works stylistically at a cusp between a Classical and Romantic styles, including one of his string quintets, nicknamed The Bullet, allegedly inspired by the hunting accident where Onslow wasted a few of his hearing.

His chamber music output includes sonatas for tetrad-h& piano and for violoncello (alternately for viola,) wind quintets, over xxiv string quartets and a prefer total of string quintets playable by owning quartet & either violoncello & double bass, or even with 2 violoncello — prefer Schubert's and victims of another composers, though this instrumentation remains a minority. (His piano quintets likewise have double bass, rather Schubert's & Louise Farrenc's.) His secon500 symphony (D shaver, piece 42) shows a few commonality of style sustaining Beethoven, particularly in the striking 1st movement, & using Schubert.
